Vikrant Massey’s film ‘The Sabarmati Report’ is in the news these days. At the same time, now the film’s producer Ekta R Kapoor met Odisha Chief Minister Charan Majhi in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. Visuals of the meeting surfaced online, in which CM Mohan Charan can be seen greeting Majhi and Ekta warmly. Ekta also visited Lingaraj Temple and offered prayers there.

Producer Ekta Kapoor met Chief Minister Mohan Majhi and thanked him for declaring ‘The Sabarmati Report’ tax free in Odisha. He had requested Chief Minister Majhi and the Council of Ministers to watch the film. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Mahaling said that on November 28, the Odisha government has announced the removal of entertainment tax from ‘The Sabarmati Report’.

What did Mohan Charan Majhi say on the film?
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said on his X handle, ‘The people’s government has decided to make the film ‘Sabarmati Report’, based on a true incident, tax free in Odisha. The film shows how Kar Sevaks were burnt alive in the Godhra fire incident to serve their vested interests and create unrest. This film will give goosebumps as it brings out the heart-wrenching truth of the past and makes the general public more aware.

PM Modi praised the film team
Earlier, notably on Monday, Ekta along with the team of ‘The Sabarmati Report’ attended a special screening of the film with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi. PM Modi praised the filmmakers for their effort in making the film. “Attend the screening of ‘The Sabarmati Report’ with fellow NDA MPs,” the PM said in a post on X. I commend the makers of the film for their efforts.

Vikrant Massey had expressed happiness
The film’s actor Vikrant Massey described attending the screening as the most important moment of his career. After the screening, Vikrant shared his experience with the media and said, ‘I watched the film with the Prime Minister, all the cabinet ministers and many MPs. It was a special experience. I still can’t fully express it in words, because I am so happy… It is the highest point of my career that I got a chance to watch my film with the Prime Minister.
