Gita Jayanti Date And Time: On the day of Geeta Jayanti, worshiping Lord Krishna and reciting Bhagwat Geeta has special significance. Geeta Jayanti is celebrated every year on the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha month. Mokshadi Ekadashi is also celebrated on this day. Srimad Bhagavad Gita is the only scripture whose birth anniversary is celebrated. Lord Shri Krishna and Vedvyas ji are worshiped on this day. It is believed that fasting on this day and reciting Shrimadbhagvadgita purifies a person’s mind and also maintains happiness and peace in life.

The Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha month will start on 11 December 2024 at 3.42 am. The date will end on December 12 at 1:09 pm. According to which, Geeta Jayanti will be celebrated on 11th December. This year is the 5161st anniversary of Geeta.

Geeta Jayanti Puja Shubh Muhurat
On the day of Geeta Jayati, Amrit Kaal is considered most auspicious for worshiping Lord Krishna and reciting Bhagwat Geeta. This time, on the day of Margashirsha month, Amrit Kaal will start at 9.34 am. Which will last till 11.03 pm. During this time, along with worshiping Shri Krishna, you can recite Bhagavad Gita.

On the day of Geeta Jayanti, one should take bath and wear yellow colored clothes. After this, clean the temple and offer water to Lord Sun God. On this day people should donate Geeta book. It is believed that by doing this work Lord Krishna is pleased.

On the day of Geeta Jayanti, Lord Shri Krishna gave the teachings of Geeta to Arjun. Many brave warriors lost their lives in the Mahabharata war. This fierce war took place between Padavas and Kauravas. In which Lord Krishna boosted Arjun’s morale by giving sermons. Bhagavad Gita has a total of 18 chapters and 700 verses, which provide detailed knowledge to humans about many important aspects of life. On this day, worshiping Lord Krishna and reciting Geeta leads to spiritual progress and also brings positivity in life.
