Taylor Swift melted hearts as she made a surprise visit to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City on Thursday, just days after wrapping up her record-breaking ‘Eras Tour‘.
The pop icon, dressed in plaid, arrived at the hospital to spend time with patients, families, and staff. While there, the star brought joy and spread smiles as she posed for pout-perfect selfies, signing autographs, and hugged it out with her fans and also gifted them with signed copies of the Eras Tour book.
Many captured the sweet moments of the superstar’s interactions with her fans and their families. She even obliged a few by Facetiming with their families who were at home when she arrived. Photos from the candid interaction soon went viral online with fans going gaga over Swift and her ‘generosity’.“Children’s Mercy Hospital does their best to nurse seriously ill children, comfort family, and bring a little joy when they can. Today did not disappoint,” wrote Anita Belt on Facebook, sharing photos of Swift with a young patient named Rylie. “Thank you Taylor Swift for bringing some joy to Rylie today!”
Annie DeGreeff, a pediatric nurse, posted a picture on Instagram of Swift with over a dozen hospital staff members, captioning it: “TAYLOR SWIFT WAS IN THE PROCEDURAL SEDATION UNIT. Best day ever!!!”
Another parent, Melissa Nuzum, shared pictures of Swift with her daughter Baylee, who often requests Taylor Swift songs during medical procedures. “We have fan girled all morning! I even cried because it’s wonderful to see my girl smile so much knowing the pain she’s been in,” Nuzum wrote. “Thank you, Taylor, and those involved at Children’s Mercy that helped make this happen!”
Before leaving the hospital, Taylor also got together with the hospital staff and interacted with them. She also posed for a happy group photo with the entire lot.
The visit comes shortly after Swift wrapped up her historic Eras Tour, which concluded earlier this week in Vancouver. The tour not only broke records as the highest-grossing concert tour of all time, earning over $2 billion, but also saw the singer distributing nearly $200 million in bonuses to her crew.
This sweet gesture also comes just a day before Swift’s 36th birthday on December 13.
