Hero has discontinued two 200cc models in one fell swoop, the XPulse 200T 4V and the Xtreme 200S 4V. Both these bikes weren’t sales successes despite multiple updates, which is likely what has forced Hero’s hand to do this.
- XPulse 200T, Xtreme 200S were slow sellers for Hero
- Both bikes were more affordable than the XPulse 200
- New XPulse 210 launching soon
Hero XPulse 200T, Xtreme 200S discontinued
The XPulse 200T and Xtreme 200S both used the same air/oil-cooled 199.6cc, single-cylinder engine as the XPulse 200 but both were more street-focused. The Xtreme 200S was a fully-faired machine but had very reasonable ergonomics and was more of a dressed-up commuter. In comparison, the XPulse 200T was basically a XPulse running on 17-inch alloy wheels.
At the time of its discontinuation, the XPulse 200T 4V was priced at Rs 1.40 lakh while the Xtreme 200S commanded a slightly higher Rs 1.41 lakh. This made both these bikes more affordable than the XPulse 200 4V, which commanded between Rs 1.52 lakh – Rs 1.65 lakh.
It remains to be seen if Hero resurrects these two models down the line, with the new 210cc engine that now powers both the new Karizma XMR and the latest XPulse.
