When ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ was released theatrically in 2021, since then the chatter about its sequel made noise in every nook and cranny of the entertainment world. Then finally when on December 5, 2024, the pan-India film ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ made it to the cinema halls, it broke all records with its massive opening. While the movie is still enjoying a successful run at the theatres, an update on its OTT release has surfaced.
Fans who are waiting for the OTT release of ‘Pushpa 2’ will be able to stream the mass entertainer on the OTT giant Netflix. Reports are doing the rounds that Netflix has acquired the streaming rights for ‘Pushpa 2’ at a jaw-dropping price of Rs 275 crore.
The demand for the movie’s OTT release is very high, but the fans will have to wait for a while before they get to enjoy the film from the comfort of their small screens. The streaming service hasn’t confirmed the official OTT release date of ‘Pushpa 2,’ but if we go by the typical release patterns then the action drama will arrive on the platform 6-8 weeks after its theatrical debut. This suggests that the fans can expect the movie to reach the online platform around February 2025.
Further, the movie will be available in multiple languages – Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, as mentioned by the streaming platform in an earlier post.
Pushpa 2’s exemplary box-office success
According to the Sacnilk report, ‘Pushpa 2’ had the biggest opening with a collection of Rs 70.3 crore in India. Further, as we speak, the Sukumar directorial, headlined by Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna has become 3rd biggest Indian grosser after ‘Jawan,’ and ‘Stree 2.’ The film has been receiving rave reviews from all over the world.
