Pushpa 2 box office collection day 12: Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule continues to reign supreme at the box officeshowing no signs of slowing down even after completing almost two weeks in cinema halls after a blockbuster opening. Since its theatrical release on December 5, the film has been on a record-breaking spree, and the latest update suggests that it has crossed the Rs 900 crore net mark at the domestic box office.
According to industry tracking website Sacnilk, Pushpa 2: The Rule collected Rs 27.75 crore on its second Monday (day 12), which is the lowest single-day collection for the film so far. However, this has not deterred the film’s overall performance, which has been phenomenal. The film collected Rs 725.8 crore by the end of its first week in theatres and went on to collect Rs 63.3 crore on its second Saturday and Rs 76.6 crore on Sunday. Pushpa 2: The Rule has taken its India total to a staggering Rs 929.85 crore in 12 days. The film has also performed exceptionally well in terms of occupancy, with an overall 24.11 percent Telugu occupancy and 21.26 percent Hindi occupancy on Monday.
Pushpa 2: The Rule has already crossed the Rs 1400 crore mark worldwide and has secured a spot among the top 10 highest-grossing Indian films ever. According to the film’s production house, Mythri Movie Makers, Pushpa 2, by the end of its eleventh day in theatres had grossed Rs 1409 crore and is expected to soon enter the Rs 1500 crore club.
The film had the best opening ever for an Indian film, earning Rs 165 crore net domestically and Rs 294 crore gross worldwide on its first day. It has also dethroned Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor‘s Street 2, Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan to become the top second-week grosser at the Hindi box office.
In a remarkable feat, Pushpa 2 has become the fastest film to cross the Rs 500 crore net collection mark in its Hindi version, achieving this milestone on its second Sunday, (day 11). This impressive record surpasses Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, which had previously held the title, taking 18 days to reach the same benchmark. Pushpa 2’s Hindi total stands at Rs 573.1 crore and is expected to become India’s number one Hindi movie before completing three weeks in theatres.
As of day 12, Pushpa 2 has surpassed the lifetime total earnings of of SS Rajamouli’s epic RRR (Rs 1230 crores gross) and Yash-fronted KGF: Chapter 2 (Rs 1215 crores gross), becoming the third-biggest grosser at the Indian box office. The Sukumar directorial is a bona fide blockbuster now as it is expected to break the worldwide box office records of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 (Rs 1790 crores gross) and experts are observing the film minutely to see if it can break the worldwide box office records of Aamir Khan’s 2017 film Dangal (Rs 2070 crores gross).
Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule is a sequel to the 2021 hit Pushpa: The Rise. The film brings back Allu Arjun as the titular gangster Pushpa Raj, who collides with his arch-nemesis Bhairon Singh Shekhawat (Fahadh Faasil). Rashmika Mandanna stars as the female lead in the film.
