Bollywood superstar Salman Khan recently made his podcast debut on his nephew Arhaan Khan’s YouTube channel, Dumb Biryani, where he spoke candidly about various aspects of his life. In a heartfelt conversation with Arhaan and his friends Dev Raiyani and Arush Sharma, Salman shared valuable life lessons, anecdotes from his career, and insights into his personal experiences.
One of the most striking moments from the podcast was when Salman recalled his time in jail and how he used it as an opportunity to rest. While discussing the importance of hard work and perseverance, the actor emphasized that making excuses, such as needing sleep, only hinders success. He revealed that he usually sleeps only one and a half to two hours a day and catches rest whenever possible.
“I am tired.’ No, get up. No matter how tired you are. ‘I don’t get sleep’. Don’t sleep. Do something, you’ll automatically go to sleep,” he advised. He then referred to his time in jail, saying, “In places where I cannot do anything, like when I was in jail, I slept. I couldn’t do anything about it.”
Apart from discussing discipline and work ethic, Salman reflected on his friendships, emphasizing the importance of **staying connected with real friends who expect nothing in return. He shared a touching story from his early Bollywood days when he was struggling financially.
“There is a friend of mine from the Maine Pyaar Kiya days. When I was doing Sanam Bewafa, he gave me Rs 15,000. Back then, Rs 15,000 was a huge amount. We were in Manali, and we were shopping. I liked something but didn’t have the money, so he gave it to me. We have been friends ever since.”
He also stressed that true friendships should not be based on favors, expectations, or selfishness. Talking about a photographer friend, he said, “Despite knowing each other for so long, we have never collaborated for work. A lot of friends come and go, and then there are friends who always want something from you. Those people should not be around.”
Salman also shared a life lesson on letting go of toxic people. He advised that while it is essential to give second chances, some people never change. “We should let go of people we’ve given several second chances to. When they don’t change, you let them go. However, whenever you meet them, you should be cordial. Don’t have any malice in your heart.”
On the work front Salman Khan was last seen in ‘Baby John’.
