Features and design
The new CLA marks a significant departure from its predecessor in terms of design and technology. The vehicle retains the iconic CLA name but has been thoroughly updated to offer more space, sophistication, and comfort, the company said.
The new model introduces an illuminated radiator grille and star-shaped daytime running lights, creating a bold and athletic visual appeal. The interior draws inspiration from the simplicity of a Zen garden, offering a minimalist and elegant environment, with the optional full-width MBUX Superscreen taking centre stage.
Mercedes-Benz said that they have focused on improving comfort and intelligence, ensuring that the CLA provides a more refined driving experience while embracing futuristic design elements. The vehicle’s new architecture optimises space without compromising style.
Performance and specifications
The CLA features Mercedes-Benz’s proprietary AI-enhanced Operating System (MB.OS), which is the first automotive system to integrate AI from both Microsoft and Google. This next-generation MBUX system offers highly personalised experiences and intuitive interaction between the driver and the vehicle. It opens up a new realm of connectivity, with the CLA offering cutting-edge technology and an entirely digital interface, the company said.
In the electric version, the vehicle boasts 800-volt electric architecture, significantly reducing charging times. The CLA 250+ with EQ Technology can recharge up to 325 km in just 10 minutes. The maximum range for this version is up to 792 km, ensuring excellent long-distance capability, claimed Mercedes-Benz.
Later this year, Mercedes-Benz will introduce a 48-volt, electrified hybrid model, offering an additional environmentally conscious option for customers.
Focus on sustainability
Mercedes-Benz has placed sustainability at the core of the all-new CLA, with the electric version reducing its carbon footprint by 40% compared to its non-electrified predecessor. The vehicle uses significantly more recycled materials, including thermoplastics made from post-consumer recyclate and Econyl yarn for floor coverings. These eco-friendly measures help the CLA achieve impressive reductions in environmental impact across the entire production process.
