Actress Deepshikha Nagpal recently opened up about the highs and lows of her acting career. The actress has been facing a great deal of negative comments and typecasting for consistently playing negative roles in films like ‘Koyla’ and ‘Baadshah’ with Shah rukh khan. She was offered only negative roles after Baadshah with SRK, but she did not want to continue doing them due to the harsh judgement from people.“Back then, negative roles weren’t respected. ‘Yeh toh side actress hai, bure kaam karti hai’ (She’s a side actress, does bad things). You don’t want to hear that when you’re living in this society,” she shared.She also faced the same typecasting issue on television. Even characters with positive intentions were unfairly labelled.

I felt like a failure—as an actor, in my marriage, everywhere. I was broken inside. I eventually learned that there’s no market for your sorrow, so I never carried that baggage to work. Acting became my escape. It helped me heal,” Deepshikha admitted.She shared that her conservative upbringing and societal scrutiny deeply affected her self-image. Raised under strict rules, she described herself as a “typical good girl” who had no boyfriends. However, public perception often left her feeling anxious and judged.
