Six countries have qualified teams to participate in every equestrian sport at the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics, and 21 have qualified at least one team, according to a recent update from the Fédération Equestre Internationale.
The six countries who have qualified in all four disciplines—jumping, dressage, eventing and para-dressage—are Sweden, Germany, Great Britain, Belgium, the Netherlands and France, as the host country.
There are 16 Paris Olympics team slots still up for grabs.
The United States, which has qualified teams in every discipline except jumping so far, is the only country in the Americas to have already secured a team berth to Paris.
The U.S. has two more chances to qualify its jumping team, the first of which is at the upcoming FEI Jumping Nations Cup Finals, being held next week in Barcelona, where the top-finishing team not already qualified for Paris will earn a slot.
After that, the Pan American Games, being held Oct. 21-Nov. 3 in Chile, will be the last chance for countries in these continents to earn their spots at the Palace of Versailles, where the Olympic equestrian events will be held. At the Pan Ams, the top two teams in dressage and eventing, and top three in jumping, who have not already qualified for Paris will punch their tickets to the Olympics.
In para-dressage, one slot for the Americas remains and will go to the highest-ranking team on the FEI Para Dressage Paralympic Team Ranking list from the region that is not already qualified for Paris. That spot currently belongs to Brazil, which is ranked No. 19.
Last week, the FEI announced the ground jury for the Paris Paralympics. The seven-member panel includes Kristi Wysocki, the only five-star para-dressage judge in the U.S.
