Thousands of users reported a PlayStation outage on Monday afternoon, according to Down Detector, which tracks user-reported service disruptions.
Thousands of users reported an outage with Sony’s flagship gaming console, PlayStationon Monday afternoon, as per Down Detector, a platform that tracks such outages based on users’ ‘reports. At it’s peak, close to 9,000 users reported an outage with PlayStation Network.


On DownDetector, more than 81% of the reports were about server issues. It corroborated posts made by users on social media, which said that they were getting a server issue with Sony’s console after signing in with an error code: ws-11649-5.
The WS-11649-5 error on PSN typically occurs due to account sign-in issues, region mismatches, account restrictions, server problems, or corrupted system data.
How To Fix?
The server error can be fixed by users only if it is an issue on their side. Since today’s outage was caused by a maintenance work, there was no no option from the users’ end to fix it.
However, users can fix it checking for common issues, like ensuring their account region matches the content, restarting the console or rebuilding the database in Safe Mode.

PSN Network Issues Leaves Users Frustrated
“PlayStation servers going down right in the middle of my road to champ dps,” one user wrote.
“PlayStation network going down on a random Monday night as if the world wasn’t messed up enough,” said another.
“I don’t get a chance to hop on until right now and PlayStation servers are down,” said one.
