Liverpool will play their first of two pre-season friendlies in Germany when they take on second-tier side Karlsruher on Wednesday.

It’s their first stop on a tour which will take them as far as Singapore and as close as Preston, with Jurgen Klopp looking to ramp up preparations for the coming campaign and ensure things get off to a better start this year.

New signings Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai could make their unofficial debuts here in a midfield which may include young Stefan Bajcetic, who hasn’t been seen since picking up a nasty injury in March.

Jordan Henderson has travelled despite being the subject of interest from Saudi Arabia, but fans may have already had their last glimpse of Fabinho as the Brazilian was left at home to negotiate his own move to the Middle East.

All eyes will be on the growing partnership between Mac Allister and Szoboszlai, as well as just how involved Trent Alexander-Arnold gets in the midfield battle.
