Sergio Perez is a driver who has contributed to Red Bull‘s team goals since arriving ahead of the 2021 Formula 1 season.

However, the Mexican has been criticized for his performance in what is the best car on the drivers’ grid and there have been rumors about who will replace him in the team.
Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko, a harsh critic of Checo, hints at the possibility that the Mexican could remain with the team, but he will have to improve.
“Sergio Perez‘s contract runs until the end of 2024, but he needs to improve…. We tell him to concentrate and stop looking at Max. He needs to relax a bit,” Marko said.

Possible Perez replacements
One of the possible drivers to replace Perez is Daniel Ricciardo, who was the team’s test driver and has already raced at the Hungarian Grand Prix with Red Bull’s sister team AlphaTauri.
The Australian driver’s performance in the AlphaTauri seat could also be a pressure factor for Sergio Perez, due to Ricciardo‘s good relationship with Red Bull.
“The engineers were very enthusiastic about the feedback Ricciardo gave, but if he wants to come back to us, he needs to get good results,” he continued.
