Chennai:
There are 1.57 lakh seats in undergraduate courses in 430 engineering colleges under Anna University. The consultation for filling these will be conducted online through the Directorate of Technical Education.
One lakh 87,693 students applied for this. Out of them one lakh 78 thousand 959 people were eligible to participate in the consultation. The rank list for these was released on 26th June.
Following this, the consultation began today. First, a special section consultation is held for differently-abled persons, children of ex-servicemen and students of sports section.
This is happening today and tomorrow for students studying in government schools who have applied for 7.5 percent internal quota and who are in special category. They have 38 seats in sports category, 11 in ex-servicemen category and 579 in disabled category.
Only 261 people have applied for these seats. Accordingly, students should choose their preferred seats from 10 am to 7 pm today. Provisional allotment order for them will be published tonight.
It should be approved and confirmed by 3 pm the next day. Only then will the final allotment order be issued.
The counseling for other special category students will be held from 24th to 27th.
After that the general category consultation will be held in 3 rounds starting from 28th. It is to be noted that the students appearing in the respective category have to participate in the counseling on their respective days and select the seats.
