The 29-year-old defender joined the French club in 2013
Sports Zone claims that PSG are becoming more willing to offload their captain and centre-back Marquinhos this summer.
The Brazilian defender, unlike forward Kylian Mbappé, was a part of the team’s preseason trip to Asia, but his statements at an upcoming press conference were viewed by the club’s administration as being less than fully supportive of the team’s position.
Mbappé was left in France after he declared he would not sign a new contract in Paris and that he intended to finish out his current term before joining Real Madrid for free the following offseason, according to the club.
The defender, who is now 29 years old, received harsh criticism for his lack of leadership during PSG’s Champions League defeat at Real Madrid 18 months ago.
Since Thomas Tuchel’s departure in December 2020, Marquinhos has been struggling to regain his very best form.
According to the outlet, the Ligue 1 club wants to revamp the squad, move past previous setbacks, and won’t hesitate to accept an improved deal for the player.

He joined Paris Saint-Germain in July 2013 on a five-year deal for €31.4 million, one of the largest transfer fees for a player below the age of 20.
The PSG team that advanced to the 2020 UEFA Champions League final included Marquinhos. When Thiago Silva left in August 2020, Marquinhos assumed leadership responsibility.
With the French club, he has won eight Ligue 1 championships and twelve domestic cups and has made the third-most appearances in club history.
He has made more than 350 club appearances, and both on the field and in the locker room, he is recognised as an authority figure.
In that case, the Parisians will have to add a top-tier defender to their team to pair with Marquinhos in the middle of the defence.
