The actress said in an interview with Curly Tales that she was a relaxed bride and had a blast, while her family was stressed because they were organising the wedding.
She admitted that her two sisters did all the arrangements – right from the invites to the decor and everything. Meanwhile, Kajol just got ready, got her make-up done byMickey Contractor and asked, ‘kya karna hai, kaise shot dena hai bolo?’, laughed the actress. She added that she had a blast at her wedding because it was a very intimate event with only 50 people – including very close friends and family. At that time, there was no social media so she wasn’t even worried about if the lipstick would go by the end of the day and other things. Hence, she was being herself and had a blast.
She further added that they got married in two ways – one was a Maharashtrian wedding and the other was a normal wedding with ‘seven pheras’. So, with two kinds of rituals, she couldn’t sit for too long, hence told Ajay to tell the pundit to just hurry up!
Kajol admitted that she loved dressing up in a nauvari saree. She had worn normal sarees in her movies many times, but never worn a nauvari saree. The actress wanted to do that and wear a ‘nath’ (typical Maharashtrian nose ring). So, she enjoyed doing thhat.
Ajay and Kajol had met on the sets of ‘Hulchul‘ in 1955. They dated for four years before they decided to tie the knot.
