Manchester United have rejected a £20 million bid from West Ham United to sell Harry Maguire.
Coach, David Moyes expects to buy Maguire, who has money on the ground, after West Ham sold Declan Rice for more than 100 million pounds to Arsenal this year.
Maguire has no future at Old Trafford, after Erik ten Hag took over as captain earlier this month.
The coach of United said that this will make the English team player, who is 30 years old, be able to return to his peak, because his responsibility has been reduced.
United hope to listen to an offer that will match the value of the player, if Maguire agrees that he wants to go to another club.
The defender earns £200,000 a week at Old Trafford, which is not the highest paid West Ham player.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave Maguire the captaincy in January 2020, five months after United bought him from Leicester City for £80 million.
Maguire has made 31 appearances in 62 games for the club in the 2022-23 season, including eight in the Premier League, while Bruno Fernandes will wear the captain’s shirt if the Englishman does not play.
Maguire’s contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of the 2025 season.
United are using defenders Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez in place of Maguire, and if one of them is injured, they will use Victor Lindelof.
Luke Shaw has also been seen guarding the center back at United under Ten Hag.
