Escort vehicle of Minister Riyas collides with scooter in Kozhikode

At the time of the incident, the minister was on his way to Thalayad Town after the inauguration of a bridge. It is learnt that an escorting police jeep pulled sudden brakes on seeing the retired teacher’s scooter, which had taken a turn to Kozhikode road.

Subsequently, the minister’s vehicle also applied brakes. Amid this, a pilot jeep hit the scooter and another escort vehicle collided with the minister’s vehicle too. The indicator of the scooter and the minister’s vehicle were damaged in the collision.

According to eyewitnesses, overspeeding of the minister’s escort vehicles led to the accident. The scooter rider had a narrow escape, they added.
