New Delhi: Crowd seen in temples on Ubhchhath, women kept fast for long life of married couple

New Delhi: Ubhchhath festival was celebrated at many places in the country on Monday. Girls celebrated this festival by keeping fast for eligible grooms and wives for the long life of their husbands. Women and girls did 16 make-up, wore new clothes and waited for the evening to set. Everyone spent time visiting from one temple to another until the moon was visible. The story was heard with great love and patience. Everyone was feeling happy by doing the puja activities. The fast was broken as soon as the moon came out. During the moon darshan and katha, women captured the moment forever by taking selfies.
Crowds were seen day and night in Sadar Bazaar area of the city and many temples including Satyanarayan Temple, Hanuman Temple, Mukund Temple, Saindham. Fast was observed throughout the day and worship was performed and at night the women broke their fast after listening to the statement.
Let us tell you that women wait for Ubhachhath every year. On this day, the wife observes a fast to pray for the long life of her husband. Whereas unmarried girls keep fast to get a good groom. Throughout the day people go to the temple wearing new clothes and gold and silver jewellery. Women break their fast at night after remaining hungry and thirsty throughout the day.
