Former Australian wicket-keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist has recently reacted to the report in which it was claimed that he believes that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is against Sachin Tendulkar. Wants to save the record of 49 centuries in ODI from being broken. After this statement went viral on social media, there was a stir in the cricket world and the question started rising in the minds of the fans whether BCCI is really giving rest to Virat Kohli at regular intervals so that he can break Sachin’s record. Can’t break it.
However, there is no truth in this and Gilchrist revealed this through one of his comments. Actually, a user made a fake tweet on his Twitter account in which he wrote,
Kohli is being rested at regular intervals these days, I think he wants Sachin’s record to remain unbeaten – Adam Gilchrist
After this, Gilchrist responded and wrote in his reply,
I never said this.
It is worth noting that this entire false statement is going viral because Virat Kohli has been rested in the first two matches of the upcoming ODI series against Australia. Kohli’s current form is very good and fans wanted him to play all three matches of the series, but in view of the upcoming World Cup, BCCI has rested Kohli and other key players of the team. All four players will be seen playing in the third ODI.
The team management wants to manage the workload of the players before the World Cup and that is why the decision was taken to rest Kohli. Let us tell you that Virat Kohli had scored the 47th century of his ODI career while playing against Pakistan in the Asia Cup. To break Sachin’s record of 49 centuries, Kohli will have to score three more centuries.
