Uran: 2681 and a half days Ganesha in all the three police station limits of Uran taluka was bid farewell in a devotional atmosphere on Wednesday. There are 8760 Ganapatis within the limits of three police stations in Uran area. This includes 36 public Ganapatis including societies.
A total of 1,731 Ganesha idols were immersed peacefully on Thursday, including one public Ganesha idol in Uran police station limits. A total of 2,047 Ganesha idols were immersed for half a day, including 765 in Nhava-Sheva Bandar police station limits and 185 in Mora Sagari police station limits.
For the immersion of half-day Ganesha, the procession started from the evening with dancing and playing music. The police had made elaborate arrangements for the immersion in the sea shores of Gharapuri, Mora, Mankeshwar, Peerwadi, Karanja Khopta, Mankatok, Nhava-khadi etc.
