Lal Bahadur Shastri is claimed to have been poisoned by a Russian cook when he went to Tashkent to negotiate a ceasefire with Pakistan mediated by the Soviet Union. The cook was arrested in this case but later released. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s Office has not given public information about the cause of death in this case.
