Wagh Bakri Tea Group Executive Director Parag Desai has passed away. He was 50 years old. On October 15, Parag Desai, who was out on a morning walk, was attacked by street dogs. While trying to save himself from a dog attack, he slipped and fell and suffered a brain hemorrhage. He died during treatment in Ahmedabad on Sunday morning. This has been said in a report of Ahmedabad Mirror.
According to sources, Parag Desai was injured in a dog attack during his morning walk on ISKCON Ambli Road. He suffered serious head injuries after the fall. He was immediately admitted to Shelby Hospital. After this he was shifted to Zydus Hospital for surgery, where he died on 22 October. Parag Desai is the son of Russ Desai, the managing director of Wagh Bakri Group. Wagh looked after the sales, marketing and exports of Parag Bakri Tea.

Parag Desai completed his MBA from Lawn Island University in New York. He was the fourth generation of his family to be involved in the tea business. Under his leadership the company has been successful in touching many new heights. Along with business, Parag Desai had a keen interest in wildlife.

Parag Desai joined Wagh Bakri Tea in 1995. At that time the total turnover of the company was less than Rs 100 crore. But today the annual turnover has crossed Rs 2000 crore. Wagh Bakri tea is being exported to 24 states of India as well as 60 countries of the world. This was Desai’s plan due to which the branding of the company got strengthened.
