October 24 i.e. Tuesday is Dussehra. In the Treta Yuga, Shri Rama killed Ravana on Krishna Dashami of Aso month. There are many incidents in the life of Sri Rama, in which the sutras for attaining happiness, peace and success are explained. If these sutras are implemented in life then all our problems can end.
There is an important event in Sri Rama’s life, the time of coronation and exile. In no time the whole scene changed. In fact, King Dasaratha announced Rama’s coronation. Even Shri Ram knew this. If the announcement was made by Dasaratha, it was not possible to change it.
All was well, but on the night before the coronation Kaikeyi’s intellect was corrupted by Manthara. Manthara seduced Kaikeyi with his words so much that he agreed to abdicate Bharata’s kingdom and send Rama into exile.
Shortly before Sri Rama’s coronation Kaikeyi asked for two boons and at his insistence both his wishes were fulfilled.
When Dasharatha called Rama and said these things, Rama remained patient. With a calm mind he listened to his father and accepted exile to fulfill his father’s promise.
As Rama prepares to go into exile, Dasharatha tries to convince Kaikeyi again. The king asked Kaikeyi to stop Rama from going into exile. If you are thinking that you are punishing Rama by sending him to exile, you are wrong. Rama will not complain to anyone and will go to the forest in peace. Rama is never distracted.
Even after Dasaratha’s explanation, Kaikeyi remained firm on her word. When Rama went into exile, Lakshmana and Sita also went with him.
Sermon of Sri Rama
In this story, Shri Ram has given us a message that we should always be prepared for every situation. Everyone in Ayodhya was happy that Rama would be crowned, but in a single night the whole scene changed. Everyone was disappointed to hear about Rama’s exile, but Rama accepted the new circumstances with positive thinking and went into exile. It doesn’t necessarily happen as we think. Sometimes things happen contrary to our thinking. Even in such situations we should not lose patience and keep our mind calm.
