When is Devouthi Ekadashi?
According to Panchang this time Ekadashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Kartak month will be from 11:04 PM on Wednesday, November 22 to 09:02 PM on Thursday, November 23. The sunrise of Ekadashi Tithi will be on 23rd November, so this festival will be celebrated on this day.
A rare combination of auspicious occasions
This time on Devouthi Ekadashi, the auspicious yogas of Sarvarthasiddhi, Amritsiddhi, Chhatra and Mitra will take place. Worship with this method
- – 23rd November, Thursday morning resolve to fast and worship after getting up early and taking bath etc. Follow the rules of fasting throughout the day.
- – Install a picture or statue of Lord Vishnu in the evening in a clean place in the house. Apply Tilak to God and light a lamp of pure ghee.
- – After offering garlands and flowers, offer abeer, gulal, sandalwood, fruit etc. After this offer your wish and chant the following mantra-
Arise, arise, Govinda, Lord of the universe, give up sleep.
When You are asleep, O Lord of the universe, this world becomes asleep.
Get up, get up, O boar, you have lifted the earth with your fangs.
O destroyer of the life of the deer-eyed one, bestow good fortune in the three worlds.
- – After this do aarti to God and offer flowers and chant these mantras-
O lord this twelfth day is designed for awakening
You alone are lying down for the welfare of all the worlds
O lord I have observed this vow for your pleasure

Tulsi-Saligram wedding tradition
Tulsi-Saligram marriage is performed in Vaishnava temples during this festival. According to the scriptures, this tradition increases happiness and prosperity. On Ekadashi of Dev Prabodhi with Tulsi Vivah one gets Akshaya Punya and all kinds of sins are removed.
Tulsiviwa method
In the evening Tulsiviwa is performed. A cane mandap should be made on the tulsi plant and red chundi and marriage material should be offered on the tulsi plant. After this, the ritual is started by placing Shaligramji in the pot. All marriage rules should be followed during this time. Also, the marriage ceremony should be performed following these following rules.
- – People who want to perform Tulsi marriage should take bath and wear clean clothes.
- – Those who want to perform tulsi kanyadan should observe today’s fast.
- – Install Tulsi plant in the courtyard or on the roof during auspicious times.
- – Installing Shaligram on another Bajot.
- – Make an octagonal lotus and install the kalash on the bajot.
- – Make a swastika on the kalash and place five mango leaves on top.
- – Wrap the coconut in a clean cloth and place it over the kalash.
- – Apply tilak on the tulsi pot and light a ghee lamp in front of it.
- – Make rangoli near the basil pot too.
- – Sprinkle Ganga water on Tulsi-Saligramji. Be sure to keep a Tulsi pot on the right side of the Shaligram post.
- – Apply Tulsi Roli and Sandal Tilak to Shaligram.
- Make a mandap of sugarcane on the soil of the Tulsi kunda and offer a red chunddi symbol of marriage on it.
- Then wrap a bunch of basil in a saree, wear bangles and make up like a bride.
- – Dress Shaligramji in yellow clothes, offer turmeric to Tulsi-Saligram.
- – First worship Kalash-Ganesha and offer incense, lamp, flowers, clothes and garlands to Tulsi-Saligram.
- – Recite Tulsi Manglashtaka and circumambulate Tulsiji and Shaligramji seven times with Asana in your hand.
- – Perform Aarti to Lord Vishnu and Tulsiji and offer Bhog.

Red clothes
It is considered beneficial to offer a red picket to the Tulsi plant. Red represents Mars in astrology. According to the scriptures, on the day of Devouthi Ekadashi, red clothes should be offered to Tulsi Mata. In such a situation, if bad words are coming out of one’s mouth due to one’s actions, these red clothes stop it. It brings wealth, happiness and prosperity.
Yellow clothes
Apart from red color, yellow colored clothes or clothes can also be offered to Tulsi plant. Lord Vishnu is very fond of yellow color. Also this color represents Jupiter. In such a situation, by offering yellow clothes one gets the grace of Lord Vishnu along with Mother Lakshmi. It brings the happiness of having children. According to the Brahmavaivarta Purana, darshan of Tulsi in the morning gives Akshaya Punya fruit. Also, donating a basil plant before sunset on this day also gives great merit.

Take a turmeric bath
Take a bath with a pinch of turmeric in the water to get the grace of Lord Vishnu on Ekadashi day. Also wear yellow colored clothes on this day, as yellow color is considered very dear to Lord Vishnu. By doing this, the grace of Lord Vishnu will be upon you. Especially your financial congestion will be removed.
Bathe with cow’s milk
On the day of Ekadashi, first bathe Lord Vishnu with a conch filled with cow’s milk and then bathe him with Ganges water or Narmada water. By doing this one will get rid of financial problems. Chant the mantra “Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya Namah” while worshiping Lord Vishnu. It will remove problems in life. In the worship of Lord Vishnu, light a pure ghee lamp and offer basil leaves in prasad.

If a person is facing problems in marriage etc. he can also do some remedies on Devouthi Ekadashi day. For this, apply tilak of saffron, yellow sandalwood or turmeric during worship of Lord Vishnu.
