In an interview with Indian Express, Vicky was asked about the big clash and he gave a witty answer, using a cricket analogy. The actor said that when two opening batsmen come to the crease, playing for the same team, you won’t say that the two batsmen are clashing with each other, they are playing for a single team, so even Ranbir and he are playing for Hindi cinema.
Vicky also acknowledged that one film might achieve rapid success while the other might progress at a steadier pace, but he emphasized that both were equally important.
Using a cricket analogy, he stated that while one player might hit fours and sixes, the other player will be at the crease and take ones and twos and maintain the strike.

When asked to specify which films would be hitting the boundary versus taking a single, Vicky offered a diplomatic response, saying that the audience will decide.
Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sam Bahadur’ is set to release in Hindi, while Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ will be available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada nationwide. This variation in language release could potentially impact the performance of ‘Sam Bahadur.’
When asked about the clash during the trailer launch of his film, Vicky stated, “If the audience resonates with the films, both the films will work. I’m as excited for ‘Animal’ as anyone else. It should be a great day for the audience, we work for that, not for each other.”
Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the movie also stars Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh in lead roles.
