Max Kilman believes manager Gary O’Neil has done “an incredible job” since taking charge of Wolves with the centre-back saying “this is his time and he’s showing it”.
Wolves have picked up 15 points from their first 12 games, including victories against high-flying Tottenham Hotspur and Treble winners Manchester City.
“When Lopetegui left, everything was a bit up in the air,” Kilman told the club’s official website, external about the managerial change just four days before the start of the new season. “Nobody really knew what was happening, Gary came in, and since then he’s done an incredible job.
“How he sets us up tactically against the top teams and his man-management have been brilliant. Credit to him and his staff – since they’ve come in they have been really good.
“You could say Gary hasn’t had much experience managing in the Premier League, but this is his time and he’s showing it. He’s been excellent.”
Wolves will face Fulham at Craven Cottage on Monday night and Marco Silva’s side will be hoping to turn around their recent dip in form.
“Last year, we struggled away from home,” said Kilman. “But we’re coming in quite confident. We need to make sure we do our best and pick up as many points as we can.
“We need to make sure we’re ready. We have to go there and put in a big performance.”
