Hapur. In the last days of the year, severe cold and heavy fog have made the condition of people miserable. Sun God kept playing hide and seek among the clouds throughout the day. People felt more cold and the warmth of the sun proved to be ineffective throughout the day. People's troubles increased due to the shivering cold. People resorted to bonfires and room heaters to protect themselves from the cold. In view of the weather conditions, District Magistrate Prerna Sharma has announced holidays for all schools from classes 1 to 12 till December 29 late on Wednesday night.
The icy winds made people feel freezing and cold. Due to the cold, people remained hiding in their homes. In view of the possibility of fog and cold on Wednesday night, at around 11.30 pm the DM announced holiday for all schools from classes 1 to 12 on Thursday and Friday. On Thursday, the maximum temperature of the district was recorded at 21 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was seven degrees Celsius.
Meteorologist Dr. Ashok Kumar said that cold is going to torment people more on New Year. There is a possibility of similar conditions continuing for two days. The fog will continue to bother like this. The situation is likely to improve after two days when the sun shines during the day.
Leave on demand of parents
There were continuous demands from parents for holidays in schools. In view of this demand, DM has announced holiday for all schools up to class eight. During this period, action will be taken against those who violate the orders.
AQI of the district remained 206
The AQI index of the district was around 250 on Thursday morning, which kept falling till the evening with cold winds. Whereas on Wednesday it had reached 331. Overall, people are definitely feeling some relief due to this decline.
