Jaipur. Under the fortnightly drama scheme of Jawahar Kala Kendra, the play Prem Patanga was staged in Rangayan on Friday. Based on the story of Vimal Chandra Pandey, this play has been directed by Saurabh Ananth. This play is the story of love and struggle life of college students Murari and Vedika. It is a realistic play but there are also touches of humor and satire added in between the plays. In the drama Prem Patanga, Ankit Paroche has played the role of Murari and Shweta Kelkar has played the role of Vedika. This was the 12th staging of Prem Patanga on stage.
Prem Patanga is the love story of protagonist Krishna Murari who hails from Varanasi. Hailing from a middle-class family, he falls in love with his classmate Vedika while studying journalism from Delhi University. He shares his feelings with those friends but is unable to express love. On one hand, there is pressure on Murari to make a career, on the other hand, there is pressure to express himself and find his love. Finally the play ended on a happy note. Melodious folk songs were also included in the play.
The stage props and costumes in the play are by Shweta Ketkar while the music has been given by Hemant Devlekar. Along with live music, pieces of sculpture and sculpture were also seen in the play. Ansh Joshi, Harsh Jha, Rudraksh Bhaire, Shubham Katiyar, Esha Goswami, Sneha Bathre, Komal Pandey, Jiya, Hemant Devlekar, Milan, Ayush Lokhande, Kailash Rajeke and Deepak Yadav have played co-actors in the play.
