INFINITE's Sungjong has taken a decisive step in his career, officially requesting the termination of his contract with SPK Entertainmentaccording to a report by The Fact. The decision appears to be a result of escalating concerns regarding the handling of the idol’s affairs, primarily centred around alleged missed payments and a lack of support during his promotions.
The report reveals that Sungjong had repeatedly sought accountability from his label, SPK Entertainment, regarding his financial activities. However, after multiple attempts to address the issue and receiving no satisfactory response, the idol decided to sever ties with the company. Sungjong’s legal representative was quoted by koreaboo, “We had asked for proof of accounting several times before notifying them of the contract termination. The reasons we are terminating the contract are missed payments and loss of trust. The label did not support the idol during his promotions, and they did not pay him after.”
The legal team is reportedly considering taking legal action to ensure that Sungjong receives the payments owed to him, as SPK Entertainment’s CEO has yet to respond to their requests.
Sungjong, who initially debuted with INFINITE under Woollim Entertainment in 2010, had a long-standing association with the label spanning 12 years. However, in 2022, the idol made a significant move by signing with SPK Entertainment.
