Apart from design differences, the features list will also differ from the Punch EV.
The Tata Punch petrol will see a mid-life facelift sometime next year. Confirming this development on the sidelines of the Punch EV launch, Tata Motors’ Passenger Vehicles Unit MD, Shailesh Chandra, said, “As far as the upgrade of the Punch is concerned, you know that it was launched in October 2021. Typical facelift period is three years. So, we should be expecting a facelift for the ICE version only in mid-2025, or slightly later.”

Tata Punch facelift: what to expect?
Just like what we’ve seen on the Nexon and Harrier facelifts recently, expect Tata Motors to update the Punch SUV’s styling with fresh design cues to bring it in line with the newer Tata models. Changes to the front bumper and grille, along with minor tweaks to the headlamps and the bonnet can be expected to make the small SUV look new.
Like the Nexon and the Nexon EV faceliftthere will be styling bits that will help differentiate the petrol-powered Punch from the recently launched Punch EV. What’s more, Chandra also said that the Punch will have feature differences between the petrol and EV versions.
Tata Nexon EV vs Nexon ICE: feature differences
If one looks at the differences between the Nexon twins, the Nexon EV gets a few exclusive features, with the most important one being the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. On the other hand, the largest screen on the ICE Nexon is a 10.25-inch unit. The EV also comes equipped with Tata’s new Arcade.ev app suite to stream OTT platforms.
Additionally, the Nexon EV is equipped with an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, as opposed to the manual handbrake on the ICE Nexon. While the EV gets all-wheel disc brakes, the ICE variants only get discs at the front. The Nexon EV additionally also gets a welcome and goodbye animation on the front LED Daytime Running Lamps, OTA updates, connected car features and a puncture repair kit.
Even the warranty on both powertrains are different – Tata Motors offers a 3-year/1,00,000km warranty on the ICE Nexon, while the Nexon EV gets a higher 3-year/1,25,000km warranty.
Tata Punch facelift: no powertrain changes expected
The Punch currently comes with a 1.2-litre petrol engine good for 86hp and 113Nm, which is mated to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. There is a CNG option too, and we don’t expect any powertrain updates on the Punch facelift.
