The eyes of the 51-inch idol of Lord Ram, which were covered on the first day of the ritual i.e. January 16, are also set to be uncovered today after it is bathed with medicated water filled in 114 Kalash. The major part of the rituals or Adhivas” are expected to conclude on Sunday, a day preceding the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram Temple.
The day’s proceedings will commence with the “Madhvadhivas” ritual, during which the Ram Lalla idol will be adorned with honey. Subsequently, the idol will undergo a ceremonial bath with medicated water stored in 114 Kalash or urns, known as “Snapan.” The older idol, referred to as the “Utsav” murti, will be taken on a tour of the new temple premises, carried in a “Palki” adorned with flowers. Following the procession, it will be placed inside the “Garbha Grah” alongside the new idol.
