For the 24th time in school history, the Florida State Seminoles will be taking part in the College World Series.
FSU is seeking its first-ever national championship, having made the trip back to Omaha in head coach Link Jarrett’s second season. It’s been a major turnaround for Florida Statewith the Seminoles having set a school record for year-over-year win improvement (24 and counting) just a season removed from the program’s first-ever losing season.
FSU is 5-0 through the first two stages of the NCAA Tournament, beating Stetson and UCF twice in regional play and then taking down the UConn Huskies in the Tallahassee Super Regional — setting the all-time Super Regional run record in Game 1.
Florida State’s opening matchup will see the Seminoles facing off against the Tennessee Volunteersthe No. 1 overall seed in this year’s NCAA Tournament.
Joining FSU and Tennessee, the other programs to make the 2024 College World Series are the North Carolina Tar Heels, Virginia Cavaliers, Kentucky Wildcats, Texas A&M AggiesFlorida Gators and the NC State Wolfpack.
Florida State and Tennessee are set for a 6 p.m. ET start on Friday, June 14th, with the game set to be broadcast on ESPN.
