After winning both races at Assen, Bagnaia now trails Martin by just 10 points in the 2024 MotoGP championship.
Just like he did at the Italian GPFrancesco Bagnaia had the perfect weekend where he dominated both the Sprint and feature-length race at the Dutch MotoGP round. World championship standings leader and 2025 Aprilia factory rider, Jorge Martin finished second and Bagnaia’s teammate Enea Bastianini, who will move to Tech3 KTM next season, was third.

- M. Marquez given 10s penalty for low tire pressure
Dutch GP podium battle
Launching from pole, reigning world champ Bagnaia took the lead and stayed in control of the race right from the first corner. This was Bagnaia’s 23rd race victory with Ducati, equalling two-time MotoGP champion Casey Stoner as the most successful Ducati rider.
There were a few times when title rival Jorge Martin came close but he couldn’t quite catch Bagnaia. For much of the race, Aprilia’s Maverick Vinales was in third place before a stunning last lap overtake by Enea Bastianini saw the factory Ducati rider take the final place on the podium.
The fight for third place involved riders like Marc Marquez, Fabio Di Giannantonio, Maverick Vinales, Enea Bastianini and rookie sensation Pedro Acosta. Unfortunately for the GASGAS rider, he suffered a fall on the last lap.
2024 MotoGP championship standings
With this dominant weekend, Francesco Bagnaia is just 10 points behind standings leader, Jorge Martin. Third in the standings is 8-time World Champion and 2025 Ducati factory rider, Marc Marquez. MotoGP will return next weekend for the German GP at the Sachsenring.
