The Indian team dominated the first quarter of this match and scored two goals. First Abhishek scored a field goal. This goal was scored from a counter attack. First Lalit Upadhyay entered the D and dodged the Australian defense. Then Abhishek scored a goal by flicking the ball towards Charter. Then Indian captain Harmanpreet Singh scored a goal on a penalty corner and put the Indian team ahead by 2-0.
Australia made a comeback in the second quarter when Thomas Craig managed to score a goal through a penalty corner. Then in the third quarter, Indian captain Harmanpreet Singh scored a goal on a penalty stroke to put India ahead 3-1.
