Vikram Bhatt’s psychological thriller ‘Kasoor’, released in 2001, starring aftab shivdasani stands out as a gripping courtroom drama mixed with elements of suspense and intrigue.
Now, 23 years later, ‘Kasoor’ seqeul has been announced. This film will mark Aftab Shivdasani’s Bollywood comeback, much like the original. However, this time, Vikram Bhatt will not be directing, and Vishesh Films will not be producing the project.
In an conversation with News18 Showsha, Vikram Bhatt responded to the news of ‘Kasoor 2’ for the first time, expressing his surprise at the sequel‘s development. He said, ‘Kasoor sequel… I don’t understand what’s going on!’
The filmmaker noted that the original ‘Kasoor’ belongs to Mukesh Bhatt and noted that someone else is now making the sequel.
Vikram also expressed uncertainty about how the new team acquired the title but wished them well. The sequel, which will feature Urvashi Rautela and is billed as a horror dramais currently being filmed, with Glen Barretto and Mudassar Aziz taking on the roles of director and writer.
Vikram Bhatt, when asked about the sequel to ‘Awara Paagal Deewana’, wished producer Firoz Nadiadwala well and clarified that he has no desire to helm the sequel himself. He explained that his mindset has evolved since the original film’s release in 2002, and he no longer feels connected to that period.
The filmmaker also revealed that he is ready to embark on a new chapter in his career, hinting at a return to the comedy genre 19 years after ‘Deewane Huye Paagal’. He mentioned that while ‘Bloody Ishq’ was one of his last projects, he is now focused on breaking new ground and is looking forward to the future, which includes working on a comedy film.
