- Women should wake up early in the morning, take a bath and wear red or green coloured clothes.
- Clean the house and especially the puja room.
- Install the idol of Mother Parvati and Lord Shiva.
- Anoint them duly.
- Light a lamp of desi ghee in front of them.
- Offer a garland of flowers and apply tilak with sandalwood and kumkum.
- Decorate Goddess Parvati with clothes and jewellery and offer other makeup items.
- Offer rice pudding, fruits, and sweets.
- Recite the Vrat Katha and end the puja with Aarti.
- Break the fast after sunset and distribute the Prasad among all the family members.
- Touch the feet of elders in your family and in-laws and seek their blessings.
