The 10-armed Vigneswara was measured here like nowhere else in the country. He is appearing to the devotees as a three-eyed one. Elsewhere, the head of Ganesha is on the left, but in this temple, the head of God is turned to the right. Lambodhar has two wives, Siddhi and Buddhi.. but the one-toothed man here is showing us that he is embracing his wife Siddhi with his hand on the left. That is why the devotees call Ganesha here as Siddhi Sametudu.
Dashabhuja Vinayakarupa is one of the forms of Shodashaganapathi. This is the form of Lord Mahaganapati. He is an integral figure. With ten arms he wears wheel, medicine, lily and treasure in his right hand. In his left hand he wears pasha, cane, padma and mace. On the crown is a crescent ornament.
The Moolamurti statue is about 15 feet high and 12 feet wide. Built hundreds of years ago, the age-old customs are still followed in the Ganapati temple. It is customary there to offer offerings with Purna Tenkaya.
Devotees have deep faith that if they offer Purna Tenkaya to Swami, their wishes will be fulfilled. This Maha Ganapati, with a full fruit in his right hand and a full fruit on his head, is receiving special worship. The belief is strong here that due to the presence of this purna fruit, offering purna tenkaya to them will fulfill any wish in the mind. Kochi devotees come here with full tenkayas to fulfill their desires. The practice of planting tenkaya has come from time immemorial that if you make a heart in your mind and place it near the Lord, it will definitely bear fruit within 21 to 40 days. He said that in the early days, the idol of Swami was small.
