Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh met Governor L. Acharya on Saturday (September 7, 2024) amid fresh incidents of violence in the State.
Mr. Singh rushed to meet Mr. Acharya after an emergency meeting of ruling coalition MLAs and Ministers at the CM Secretariat, official sources said.
The meeting of MLAs discussed matters related to the series of attacks by armed miscreants, a source said.
The ruling coalition comprises the BJP, the Naga People’s Front, and the National Peoples Party (NPP). Of the 53 MLAs in the ruling coalition headed by the BJP, 24, including 6 ministers, attended the meeting with the CM.
The meeting was called after the recent attacks on civilians by armed men, sources added.
Manipur police to deploy anti-drone system and guns to curb aerial attacks
