After the Agath tasted defeat by the hands of Scarlet Witch, Wanda took over the Darkhold. It was observed that she was corrupted with every use. It was evident in WandaVision’s series finale and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
It was the Darkhold that helped Wanda and others to dreamwalk.. After a sorcerer destroyed the Darkhold and died doing so at Kamar-Taj, Wanda went to Mount Wundagore, where the Darkhold had been transcribed into the walls. It was then that she realized the Darkdhold had corrupted her, she used her powers to destroy all copies of it in the multiverse.

Destroying the Darkhole wasn’t easy, it came at a price.Wanda Maximoff sacrificed herself as she walked this path. Though her dead body was never shown in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, a flash of red energy emerged as Wanda exploded Mount Wundagore from within. The first Agatha All Along trailer confirmed the end of Scarlet Witch’s journey.
Agatha Harkness’ betrayal
WandaVision revealed the dark past of Agatha Harkness. She has been active at least since the Salem Witch Trials of the late 1600s. She was part of her mother Evanora Harkness coven back then. However, she stole the knowledge and betrayed her coven. She wasn’t supposed to have access to that knowledge and practice dark magic but she did. That led to Agatha being put on trial by her own coven.
However, Agatha knew how to turn things around and despite being bound to a wooden pole, she overpowered the others, eventually killing Evanora, her own mother.
Agatha Harkness’ attempt to steal Scarlet Witch’s power
Agatha Harkness had a reputation for trying to steal other witches’ powers. Her act of betrayal towards her coven and killing her mother in the process is proof of the same. In WandaVision, she even confessed to Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff that she took away the magic from “the undeserving.” Agatha Harkness truely intended to take Wanda’s powers as well. but the Scarlet Witch had other plans.
Existence of Scarlet Witch’s sons’ multiverse variants
The end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness shows doesn’t give closure to Wanda’s quest to be reunited with her kids. The multiverse versions of them that the Scarlet Witch found remained with their mother, Earth-838’s Wanda, by the end of the film. No versions of Billy and Tommy made their way back to Earth-616.
