In an interview with Lehren Retro, Vijayta revealed that her son, Avitesh Shrivastavawho is following in his father’s footsteps as a singer, composer, and actor, is ‘struggling’ to find support to get a footing in the film industry.
Opening up to the portal, she alleged that during her husband’s final days while battling cancer in 2015, Shah Rukh paid him a visit at the hospital. Sharing the interaction the two men had, she claimed that Aadesh made SRK promise to help and support his son’s career. However, she went on to state that she has been unable to reach out to the Bollywood star for help as the number he provided at the time is not working. She said, “Today, I am just not able to contact Shah Rukh; the number that was given to my son is not working. I just want to remind Shah Rukh that he was a good friend of Aadesh, and this is the time, we need you.”Pandit, who is not actively working, expressed concern over the lack of opportunities for Avitesh despite his hard work. She urged Shah Rukh to step up and offer the support he promised. She suggested, “Shah Rukh can make a film with my son under his production banner Red Chillies Entertainment. He is such a good actor, and he just needs a little push.”
She also reminded Khan of the role her family played in his success early on in his career. She noted how her brothers – music composer duo
Jatin-Lalitwere behind some of Khan’s biggest musical hits in films like ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ and ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’. Asking him to return the favour, she said, “Shah Rukh is a big star today, but my brothers gave him superhit songs that played a big part in his rise. He must do something for my family.”
On the work front, Shah Rukh is currently working on his next big film ‘King‘ which will see him sharing screen space with daughter Suhana Khan. The film will also star Abhishek Bachchan as the villain and Abhay Verma of ‘Munjya’ fame.
