This move would be easier to swallow for the Steelers had the Raiders waited a few weeks to make their trade intentions known and thus they would be more able to afford him. But Adams’s request expedited things and so if the Steelers want to make it happen, they would have to move around some money, but it’s not impossible. And the Steelers went hard after Aiyuk in the preseason, so you know they’re very much in the market to add talent at the position.
It would be rather ironic (or something) should this trade happen, considering the Raiders hired Luke Getsy, seemingly as a sign they believed the problem in Chicago was Justin Fields. Now Fields’s career is taking off in Pittsburgh while Getsy’s not doing so hot in Las Vegas. Adams first playing under Getsy and then with Fields would be something.
