Ayodhya Diwali 2024: Two world records were made on the occasion of the eighth Deepotsav on the banks of river Saryu in Ayodhya on Wednesday. Two ‘Guinness World Records’ were created for the most number of people performing Aarti and lighting the most number of lamps simultaneously in Shri Ram’s city. ‘Guinness World Records’ adjudicator Praveen Patel announced the new record on Wednesday evening, where he was accompanied by ‘Guinness Consultant’ Nischal Bharot for verification.
Praveen Patel said, “Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department, Ayodhya District Administration and Saryu Aarti Samiti are the title holders of the ‘Guinness World Record’ for performing aarti by the highest number of people, 1,121. Congratulations to all of you.”
Regarding the second record, the Guinness judging team said, “By lighting a total of 25,12,585 lamps Uttar Pradesh “The Department of Tourism, Ayodhya District Administration and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University are the title holders of the new Guinness World Record for simultaneous lighting of the most number of lamps.”
For the first time, 1121 Vedacharyas performed Aarti of Saryu river together.
Praveen Patel said he is “very happy” to have verified not one but two ‘Guinness World Record’ titles – the most number of people performing aarti simultaneously and the most number of lamps lit. He said that ‘Aarti by the maximum number of people simultaneously is a completely new record whereas the existing record of lighting of lamps was 22 lakh 23 thousand 676 (22.23 lakh) lamps.

“It is important that we have the numbers, but it is also important that you follow the guidelines,” he said. “You have followed the guidelines for both records,” he said.
Let us tell you that this time the Uttar Pradesh government took a unique initiative on this first Deepotsav after the consecration ceremony of Ram temple. For the first time, 1121 Vedacharyas performed the Aarti of Saryu river together. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Performed the Aarti of Saryu ‘Maiya’ on Wednesday evening. On this occasion, 1121 Vedacharyas, dressed in the same color, continued performing aarti in one voice. Before the Aarti, the Chief Minister also worshiped Saryu. (Language)
