The number of attempts for JEE Advanced has been increased to three. The new rule will come into effect from this year. Earlier students could take this exam only twice. According to the new guidelines issued, candidates can appear in JEE Advanced examination maximum three times in three consecutive years. The age limit for joining advance has also been changed. Earlier the number of attempts for JEE Advanced was twice in two consecutive years. To appear in the advanced examination, the student must be born on or after October 1, 2000. SC, ST and PWD candidates have also been given age relaxation of 5 years, that is, students of this category should be born on or after October 1, 1995.
JEE Advanced 2025 Eligibility: Who can appear for JEE Advanced exam three times?
Every year, 2.50 lakh top ranked candidates who are successful in JEE Mains appear for JEE Advanced examination. According to the new rules, the candidates who have got admission in IIT through JoSAA counselling. All such students will not get the benefit, that is, they cannot appear in the examination. Whereas students who have taken admission in NIT can appear in the exam as per the new rules.
JEE Advanced 2025: These students cannot take the exam
Whereas if the results of class 12th academic year 2021-22 have been declared before 21 September 2022, but the result of a particular candidate has been withheld for some reason, then he cannot appear in JEE Advanced 2025. Advanced examination can be conducted in the last week of May or the first week of June. To appear in JEE Advanced, it is mandatory to pass JEE Mains exam. JEE Mains and Advanced examination is conducted every year by the National Testing Agency.
