Hyderabad: Former BRS MLA Ch Lingaiah on Thursday appeared before the police in connection with the phone tapping case.
He appeared before the investigators at the office of Assistant Commissioner of Police, Jubilee Hills division, in response to a notice issued to him. After questioning him, the police recorded his statement and collected more details from him.
Lingaiah, a former MLA from Nekrekal in Nalgonda, was summoned before the police, who found evidence allegedly showing communication between the suspended Additional Superintendent of Police M Thirupathanna, who was in the intelligence department, and between him.
The evidence showed that a few BRS leaders forwarded contact number of some persons to Thirupathanna during Munugode bypoll in November 2022. Speaking to media persons after appearing before investigators at the ACP office, Lingaiah refuted the allegations saying that he was not involved in the phone tapping case.
A leading telecom service provider replied to the investigating officer confirming phone tapping of two persons, who are close associates of MLA Nomula Veeresham.
