Rita Anchanthe lead actress of the 80s film Parasangada Gende Thimma, passed away at the age of 68 on Wednesday. She starred alongside the late actor Lonkesh and was well-loved for her performances. Rita played the role of Marakani in the film, which featured popular songs. She acted in Hindi, Punjabi, and Gujarati films, gaining recognition in various industries.
Reportedly, Rita had been unwell for the past few years and was on medication. After her passing, many well-known people shared their condolences and tributes to the popular actress on social media.
Raghuram D P expressed his sorrow over the passing of actress Rita, stating, “My dream of sharing her life story with all of you could not come true. Mrs Rita Anchan Radhakrishna, renowned for her role in Parasangada Gende Thimma, physically departed from us yesterday (13/11/2024). May God grant her family the strength to bear this grief”.
Anchan acted in many notable films, including ‘Kora Badan’, ‘Ladki Jawan Ho Gayi’, ‘Aap Se Pyar Hua’, ‘Sandarbha’, and ‘Farz Aur Pyar’. However, her role as Marakani in ‘Parasangada Gende Thimma’ made her very popular among fans, and earned her several awards. After marrying Radhakrishna Manchigaiah, she lived in Bangalore, where they had a son and a daughter.
In recent months, Rita Anchan has been battling severe health issues.
