Uruguay scored two goals in five minutes in the second half to turn the score around against Colombia at the Centenario Stadium.
In the match for South American Qualifiers Heading to the 2026 World Cup, Davinson Sánchez scored against and made it 1-1 between Uruguay and Colombia in the 56th minute.
The Colombian defender wanted to reject a cross that reached the area from the left wing of the local attack, but the ball ended up inside Camilo Vargas’ goal.
The goal meant that Marcelo Bielsa’s Celeste were able to break the streak of four consecutive games without scoring goals.
But just five minutes later, Rodrigo Aguirre entered the middle of the area and took a left-footed cross to score the 2-1 in favor of Uruguay, and thus reverse the score in a match that seemed very complicated for the home team.
