Bangladesh: After Sheikh Hasina resigned from her post and fled to India, attacks are being carried out targeting anti-minorities, especially Hindus in that country. Radical Islamic groups are working hard and attacking Hindu businesses, temples and homes. A large-scale online campaign is now running to ban ISKCON, the organization that provided food to the people of Bangladesh two months ago when there were severe floods.
Some news editors as well as radical Islamist groups have called for a ban on the Hindu religious organization ISKCON, or International Society for Krishna Consciousness. On August 05, after Sheikh Hasina’s arrival from Bangladesh, the ISKCON temple was damaged in the attacks of vandals in Bangladesh. However, currently people are conducting a campaign on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, X on a large scale to cancel ISKCON from the country. Anti-Hindu posts are being posted on a large scale.

The hashtag #BanIskcon is trending. They want to ban this organization as a terrorist organization. The online campaign gained momentum following the alleged involvement of ISKCON members in the November 05 violence. On the other hand, Sheikh Hasina’s party “Awami League” is also called to be banned. Facebook posts describing Awami League and ISKCON as agents of India. “ISKCON is an international organization, nowhere in the world have such incidents happened. ISKCON is not an agent of any intelligence agency of any country but works only for the welfare of humanity,” said ISKCON President Satya Ranjan Barai.
Some posts link to Israel and ISKCON. Some are posting that ISKCON is working with the involvement of Israel and ISKCON should be banned. The campaign includes several accounts titled “Bangladesh Reborn,” “Post-Revolution Bangladesh,” “Bangladesh 2.0,” and “Rising Bangladesh.” Most of these are ex-premium subscribers. YouTube channels are also doing similar campaigns. Videos are being made claiming that ISKCON is interfering in Bangla politics and encouraging Hindus to support Sheikh Hasina. It is accused of creating stories that the condition of Hindus in Bangladesh is not good.
