The Sabarmati Reportstarring Vikrant Massey and Raashi Khannahad a prestigious special screening at the Parliament today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the screening, along with senior cabinet members, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP president JP Nadda.
Vikrant Massey, who announced a temporary break from acting earlier this week, addressed the media after the event but avoided discussing his decision. Despite this, Vikrant expressed immense gratitude for the opportunity to watch the film alongside the Prime Minister. “It was a different experience to watch the film with the Prime Minister. The Defence Minister and the Home Minister were also there. I am not able to express my experience in words as I am happy that I was happy to see the film. Watching the movie with PM Modi is the highest point of my career,” he said.
PM Modi also took to Twitter to shares his review and said, “Joined fellow NDA MPs at a screening of ‘The Sabarmati Report.’ I commend the makers of the film for their effort.”
Producer Ekta Kapoor also shared her appreciation, saying that the Prime Minister’s acknowledgment of the film was a significant boost for the team. Along with the cast, including Raashi Khanna and Riddhi Dogra, and director Dheeraj Sarna, she attended the screening, calling it a proud moment for the film’s crew.
Actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranautwho also attended the screening, was all praise for The Sabarmati Report. She said, “It is a very important film… the previous government hid facts from the people. The film shows how people played politics in such a grave situation back then.”

veteran actor Jeetendrawho also watched the film with Narendra Modi, expressed, “I told PM Modi that I have spent 50 years in the film industry and for the first time because of my daughter, I have watched a movie with PM. PM Modi told me that I am also watching the first film after becoming the Prime Minister.”
Raashii Khanna said, “We have watched the movie a number of times but today was very special as we got to watch it with the Prime Minister… It’s a surreal feeling. It’s a high point in my career. The film has been made tax-free in many states and other states are also on the path of making it tax-free. I hope people watch it in large numbers.”
Earlier on Monday, Vikrant posted a heartfelt message on social media announcing his temporary break from acting. He shared, “The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realise it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a husband, father & a son. And also as an actor. So coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Last 2 movies and many a years of memories. Thank you again. Forever indebted.”
The Sabarmati Report is based on real-life events surrounding the Godhra train incident.
