Tina Ahuja recently opened up about her father Govinda getting hospitalised after he accidentally shot himself in the leg.
In conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Tina shared her thoughts on the notion that his time in the industry is over. She expressed that Govinda always brings excitement and energy wherever he is, and dismissed the idea that a movie flop signals the end of his career. She mentioned that she’s been hearing such comments since her school days and emphasized that success in the industry isn’t defined by a single setback.
The actress further explained that she doesn’t pay attention to negative voices because when Govinda steps on stage, the world dances. She witnessed the immense love people have for him, even when he was in the ICU, and expressed her gratitude for that. Tina emphasized that her main concern during the incident was her father’s well-being, and nothing else mattered at the time. She also noted how the media was constantly present, but her focus was solely on her dad, not on the outside attention.
In October 2024, Govinda accidentally injured his leg when his licensed revolver misfired at his Mumbai home. The incident happened early in the morning while handling the firearm, which had a partially broken lock. The bullet hit his leg, and he received immediate medical attention. After a successful surgery at CritiCare Hospital to remove the bullet, he was kept under observation before being discharged. Govinda later reassured fans about his recovery through an audio message, thanking them for their support. Investigations confirmed that the incident was accidental, with no foul play involved.
